_Synopsis

Jenna, a young woman in her thirties, organizes her life around her daughter Lia, who has an aggravated form of trisomy 22, a teenager as bright as she is vulnerable. Despite the difficulties of raising a young girl with such a severe handicap on her own, Jenna continues to try to live her life owing nothing to anyone. Her routine, meticulously constructed around her daughter, is her only armor against a harsh, implacable reality. This fragile balance is suddenly upset when Régis, Jenna's father, reappears in her life after years of silence and absence. Her father's return awakens a deep-seated doubt: what would become of Lia if she were to disappear? Would those around her care for her daughter?
